Additional Information:

Louie is a ten pound purr-box with a dash of catitutde and cat-nip crazies. Louie loves to play chase with his toys, scratch on a cardboard scratcher, and follows you around the house to be near you constantly. He'll independently jump onto your lap for affection, will snuggle into your neck when you carry him, and will get under the covers with you when it's bed time. Louie loves to explore newly opened doors leading to anywhere, befriends anyone he meets, and is determined to dig to China through his litterbox (Louie, really, come on, we've gone over this, there's a bottom, it's dense).

He's vocal about getting attention for playtime and cuddles, and can out-beg a dog if you're in the kitchen. He appreciates a warm spot, loves to watch life pass by your windows, and his favorite scratching spot is that side ear/chin angle - though he generally loves to have his face mushed. His fosters dotingly refer to him as Big Lou and Biggie.

His foster mom's favorite bonding time is when he falls asleep with her on a rocking chair, and when they play catch-the-feather (though watch your hands, he's jumped 3ft before - play time is serious business). His foster dad's favorite bonding time is passed on the couch, Netflix + naptime style, and exploring the hallways together when Louie/Biggie makes a run for it. Biggie loves the boxes in the trash room, but isn't so sure about the noises the elevator makes.

If you are interested in meeting a cat, we require an adoption application. Visit www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-a-city-kitty.html to apply. If a cat has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.

If a cat has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. Information about fostering and our current cat foster needs can be found here: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-kitty.html

City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our animals (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Our cat adoption fee is $150 unless noted. Prior to arrival, all of our cats are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, FVRCP, and Feline leukemia. They are microchipped and tested for FIV and FeLV. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet.

We do our best to disclose all health records and known health conditions to adopters. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations and health tests, but does not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR & CK.  City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
